The 35-year-old TV news reporter, who had reached 243 lbs., has yo-yo dieted for five years, all in front of the notoriously unforgiving camera. "I always gained the weight back and then some," she says. "It was really embarrassing getting so large on TV."

About the Diet: She's embracing Carolyn Barnes's Clean Momma Plan, which focuses on "taskercize." What's that? "It's combining exercise with everyday tasks, like adding a plié when you grab something from a low grocery store shelf," says Barnes. "It's perfect for people who don't have time to go to the gym."

ABC is adding a twist to the TV weight-loss format.

 

The network has ordered the series My Diet is Better Than Yours, which premieres Thursday, Jan. 7 at 8/7c. The show follows a roster of celebrity trainers as they coach overweight Americans looking to drop some pounds.
